Riams Story

Founded in 2022 by Dr. Pragati Shubha, RIAMS has grown into a focused academic platform for doctors seeking specialised training in aesthetic medicine, rhinoplasty and facial aesthetic surgery.

The Doctor Dilemma

RIAMS began from a gap many doctors still feel today.

Where Do I Begin?

Her Journey

Dr. Pragati Shubha, like many young surgeons after post-graduation, wanted to learn a specialised field like rhinoplasty and aesthetic surgery, but did not know where to begin. The desire to learn was strong, but the path was not clear. She was faced with a simple dilemma: where to go and how to train.

The options felt scattered. Conferences had excellent faculty and advanced lectures, but for a young surgeon, there was often no clear starting point. Short courses gave exposure, but not always enough guidance to build confidence. Going abroad for training meant high expenses, paperwork, and often only observer access.

What was missing was direction, mentorship, repeated exposure, and someone to guide the learning journey. At that stage, the question was not only how to learn. It was whether she would ever become good enough to start an independent practice.

But life had prepared her path. That journey changed when she met her mentors.

True mentorship lies in passing knowledge forward, ensuring the art and craft of surgery live on beyond those who teach it.

The Mentors Changed the Path

At a time when she was unsure of her direction, meeting Dr. Brajendra Baser changed her journey. A globally recognised figure in rhinoplasty, he looked beyond her uncertainty and gave her something very important: hope and belief. He gave her time. He encouraged her. He taught her patiently, from basic anatomy and surgical principles to grafts, sutures, operative steps, and more advanced concepts.

Dr. Baser did not only teach her techniques. He taught her how important it is to hold a learner's hand through the process, to explain without hesitation, to correct without discouraging, and to share knowledge without holding back.

Through him, she was introduced to Dr. Lokesh Kumar. His disciplined approach to surgery, depth of knowledge, and attention to precision further shaped the way she looked at aesthetic surgery. He taught her that good training is not only about learning steps or techniques. It is about developing judgement, discipline, responsibility, and respect for the craft.

These mentors did not only shape her surgical learning and judgement. They shaped the way she thought about passing knowledge forward, through guidance, exposure, encouragement and belief in a doctor's ability to grow.

That belief became one of the foundations of RIAMS.

From One Doctor's Journey to RIAMS

What began as a personal learning journey became a larger question. If one young surgeon struggled to find the right path, how many others were facing the same problem? RIAMS was created to make learning clearer, more guided and closer to real clinical practice.

The RIAMS Learning Model

RIAMS was built around a simple idea: doctors need more than lectures to grow.

They need one on one access to experienced faculty, exposure to real cases, time to ask questions, and learning that continues beyond a single event.

That became the RIAMS approach, combining academic teaching, clinical exposure, digital learning, and continued mentorship.

Bringing Global Learning Closer

RIAMS began in India, but the vision was never limited to one geography. From the beginning, the aim was to bring respected national and international faculty and experienced Indian teachers together on one academic platform. Doctors should not have to depend only on travelling abroad, large conferences, or limited observer opportunities to access high-quality aesthetic education.

RIAMS continues to build that bridge, connecting doctors in India and across the world with advanced learning in aesthetic medicine, rhinoplasty, and facial aesthetic surgery.

Building a Community of Doctors

In a few years, RIAMS has grown into a community of doctors learning aesthetic medicine, rhinoplasty, and facial aesthetic surgery.

But the purpose has remained the same.

To give doctors a place where they can learn with clarity, find guidance, and feel part of a serious academic community. RIAMS is not only about skills. It is about mentorship, confidence, and belonging.

The RIAMS Promise

Today, RIAMS brings together in-person training, digital learning, global faculty sessions, live surgical and clinical exposure, webinars, and continued academic access through its LMS.

Its programs in aesthetic medicine, rhinoplasty, and facial aesthetic surgery are designed to give doctors continued access to faculty teaching, practical clinical education, and a growing academic community beyond a single course or workshop.
