About
Following Board qualifications in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery, military service as a Navy Surgeon, and three subsequent years of Plastic Surgery Fellowship in the United States, Dr. Enrico Robotti became Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the “Ospedali Riuniti” (now “Papa Giovanni XXIII”) in Bergamo, Italy, in 1997, at the age of 38. He served in this position until 2017.
With over 9,000 surgical cases, he has been extensively involved in general reconstructive plastic surgery, with an emphasis on flap reconstruction in the head and neck region, extremities, and trunk, including microsurgery. In private practice, he was also involved in cosmetic surgery, with a predominant focus on rhinoseptoplasty.
Since 2007, Dr. Robotti has dedicated his private practice exclusively to rhinoseptoplasty, combining intensive clinical activity with scientific and teaching commitments. He has pioneered and refined numerous techniques in primary rhinoplasty, particularly through a “hybrid” approach combining “structural” and “preservation” concepts. He has also focused extensively on complex revision cases, developing specific techniques for finesse reconstruction with rib grafting and treating an increasing number of international patients. He has developed original surgical techniques and specialised instruments that are now used by surgeons worldwide.
Dr. Robotti has authored or co-authored numerous scientific papers and book chapters and has participated as chairman, moderator, panellist, keynote speaker, or invited faculty member at several hundred national and international meetings. He has performed live surgical demonstrations at many of these meetings and has authored several live-surgery DVDs on rhinoseptoplasty.
During his tenure as Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery, he organised 18 live-surgery meetings at the Ospedali Riuniti in Bergamo, hosting renowned international surgeons. He also established the “Bergamo Advanced Minifellowship in Revision Rhinoseptoplasty”.
In 2008, he founded and directed the first “Bergamo Open Rhinoplasty Course”, an international biennial intensive course dedicated to open rhinoplasty. Subsequent expanded editions followed in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2022. The last two editions attracted over 600 participants from 64 countries, establishing the Bergamo Open Rhinoplasty Course as one of the foremost rhinoplasty symposia worldwide. He continues to serve as its Founder and Chair.
Since October 2017, Dr. Robotti has regularly conducted personal Live Surgery Courses in a “One-to-One” educational format, focusing on primary and secondary rhinoplasty.
Dr. Robotti is an Associate Professor in Plastic Surgery, teaching rhinoseptoplasty to Plastic Surgery residents at the Universities of Rome, Milan, and Padua. He is a member of ASPS, ISAPS, ICOPLAST, EAFPS, EURAPS, and SICPRE.
He served as President of SICPRE (the Italian Society of Plastic Surgery) from 2012 to 2013 and organised the Society's National Meeting in Bergamo in 2014. He has been an ISAPS International Visiting Professor since 2013 and serves as a reviewer for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and Facial Plastic Surgery on the subject of rhinoseptoplasty.
Dr. Robotti is a Founding Member and Past President (2019–2022) of the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe, currently the largest international rhinoplasty society, with over 1,000 members worldwide. He also currently serves as Chair of the ICOPLAST Rhinoplasty Chapter.

A Legacy of Humanitarian Missions in Gaza and the West Bank
Over the last 20 years, Dr. Robotti has led numerous humanitarian surgical missions in the Middle East with specialised surgical teams from the Ospedali Riuniti di Bergamo, under the aegis of the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF).
PCRF is a US-based nonprofit organisation providing free medical care, humanitarian aid, and specialised surgery to injured children in the Middle East, regardless of nationality, religion, or political affiliation.
Through these missions, hundreds of reconstructive surgeries have been performed, addressing trauma and burn sequelae, skin cancers, pressure sores, and congenital malformations.
