About
Dr Ignazio Tasca is an Italian rhinologist and rhinoplasty surgeon with extensive experience in functional, endoscopic and aesthetic nasal surgery. His professional work is focused almost entirely on surgery of the nose, including primary and secondary rhinoplasty, septoplasty, septorhinoplasty and nasal valve surgery.
He previously served for 25 years as Director of the ENT Unit at AUSL Imola and has played a major role in rhinoplasty education in Italy and internationally. He has directed 16 basic and 12 advanced residential “full immersion” courses in functional and aesthetic nasal surgery, including cadaveric dissection, and has organised international live-surgery courses over many years.
Dr Tasca is particularly known for his work in endoscopy-assisted rhinoplasty. In 2002, he published his technique adapting endoscopic methods to functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty, allowing direct visualisation of surgical steps that were traditionally performed without direct vision.
He also has extensive experience in paediatric nasal surgery, including long-term work on paediatric septoplasty and nasal growth, as well as complex functional septorhinoplasty.
Dr Tasca is a Founding Member and Vice President of the Italian Academy of Rhinology, an Honorary Member of the Latin American Society of Rhinology, and a member of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. He has been an invited speaker and live-surgery faculty at national and international meetings since the 1980s.
His academic work includes approximately 80 scientific publications and several monographs devoted to functional and aesthetic nasal surgery. His publications cover topics including endoscopic rhinoplasty, septorhinoplasty, septal perforation repair, extracorporeal septoplasty and paediatric nasal surgery.
